Anyone whose been to Oceana knows the minute you lose your friends, you’re pretty much guaranteed a night by yourself trying to find them! It is a bit crazy, with staircases and corridors leading you round and round in circles, but I’ve never had a bad night out there. We’ve been mostly on Fridays; drinks are still quite expensive but you can get there whenever you like as its free entry all night long, and £2.50 for a glass of wine isn’t that bad for a weekend! Only downside is you won’t find many students there at weekends, but if you go there with loads of friends you don’t tend to notice the 35 year old locals wondering around….
Being friends with Jesters lovers I’ve only been a few times on Wednesday nights (student nights) which has always been a good night out, it just gets so busy! Having said that, the music is always really good, especially in the Icehouse. The Bar Quarter and Louisiana Bar offer different music and atmospheres, often with events and bands playing in Louisiana. The Disco Room’s not bad either for a 20 minute burst of cheese!
Lots of people loved the old Ikon and Diva, but I definitely think Oceana is a much better replacement and better night out all round. Love the music and the atmosphere, and the option to head to the Bar Quarter when you get there for a few drinks on the comfy sofas then head to the main club when you fancy it…also not forgetting the hot dog stands inside the club! Genius….
It’s always worth checking the website for what’s going on, as they have loads of theme nights:
